SOARTRONIC OTG1 how to.

Connect 12v power line to the 12v and GND solder pads or use RJ45 cable with 12v.
Use the normal IGC 1:1 RJ cable for FLARM.
Install XCSOAR and go system on start screen, select enable usb-otg.
Set up xcsoar as usual, ie. For example Flarm: go devices, select port ttyUSB0 , Driver Flarm. Baudrate 19200.

When everything is working the way you want, use shrink tube to protect otg1 against short circuit .

SOARTRONIC OTG1 /OTX1

Available january-february 2016...

Soartronic OTX1 is a Plug&Play solution to connect your KOBO/XCSoar
with FLARM, and maybe other devices.

Soartronic OTX1 is developed for charging KOBO devices running XCSoar
and connecting with one device (usually FLARM) over RS232 and IGC
standard RJ cable. This means that you can connect this directly with
your FLARM using standard cable. It will also have RJ45 splitter, so
that you can easily add it in your existing FLARM installation.

This one has it's own 12V / 5V conversion, and it can connect 12V to
your FLARM, if you like it that way. It will have place for 12V and GND wires
ready.

UART if. uart0 splitter & Level shifters w/o internal pullups

In some cases like using max3232 or similar level shifters that do not have internal pullups on ttl side it may be important to add external pullup resistor to U1 leg 11 to keep that input '1' state.
If you have problems with declare/flight dl from uart0 please measure voltage level from anode leg of one of splitter diode. Measure points are shown in picture.
If you see voltage(close to zero) like first picture, pullup resistor is needed!

Our next pcb version have place for additional pullup. in this picture voltage is measured after pullup is added.  Value of pull up is not critical, you can use example 100kohm or 470kohm or something between these values...

If you have older pcb version, add pullup resistor between U1 legs 16 and 11.

SOARTRONIC - FLARM data cables.

If you have FLARM F4/F5/F6/F7/F8/F9 with two dataports, RJ45 and RJ12, pay attention! use RJ45 port (marked as power/data) with SOARTRONIC devices. RJ45 port provides 19200 baud rate which is set also as default  in SOARTRONIC BT1/2.
F series RJ12 port only transmit data at 4800 baud so it is not wise idea to use it.

You can use 1:1 connected RJ45 - RJ45 cable with these devices.

LX FLARM's (redbox & others) that only have RJ12 dataport, you must use RJ45 - RJ12 cable.

To make correct RJ45 -RJ12 cable, simply leave 1 and 8 pins out from RJ45 connector and connect rest as:

2-1
3-2
4-3
5-4
6-5
7-6
